BLEED ANY%, a comic review
This is a series of posts where I'm reviewing comics I've bought from the ShortBox comics fair!
I bought this comic because I like watching speed runs and I was really intrigued by the title - BLEED ANY% by Blue Delliquanti. I also thought the summary sounded really cool:
Speedrunner Samson859 specializes in the niche augmented reality game The Final Nocturne, which immerses the player in its world using nothing but sound and touch.
The comic didn't disappoint, I really enjoyed the world-building in this, the description of the game - the mystery in the game and the speed running challenge kept me totally absorbed.
The art really contributed to the world-building as well - the character's shifting appearances and the way the soundscape of the game and it's characters is superimposed over the "real world" in the art is a great illustration of what comics do best as medium.
Really enjoyed this, one of the highlights of the comics I've bought from the festival so far. You can buy BLEED ANY% on the Shortbox comics fair website here, and check out Blue Delliquanti's website as well.
