i played co-open by lowpolis

I played this very cute game, co-open. You play as a child entrusted to go shopping for the first time, with your grandmother dropping you off. The whole game world is a shop - but not a super market, a community co-op. You know the cashier, there's posters up for a local punk band.

I got this as part of the no ICE in Minnesota bundle, and didn't read any of the game blurb - so for my first play through I did my walked around the shop, helped my friend, fed a few cats and paid for my shopping and figured that could have been the game. In the cute little cut scene at the end, while your grandma walks you home, she gently suggests if she'd been given free rein she'd go exploring.

In my second playthrough I did just that and found a lot more very fun secrets. It's a sweet little game where you're satisfyingly rewarded for exploring and trying things out. Go play it!
