I bought a watch
Update: I eventually bought a watch! I didn't end up buying any of the watches I considered in that post, instead I decided on a Timex watch and then trawled Vinted1 a little while until one popped up I liked. This cost me £6, and then a further £19 to get the battery replaced in Timpsons2 by a very friendly guy who sorted it out while I waited.
Here you can see it with and without the indiglo light - I love it! It's already been super useful for checking the time while I'm on my bike, and I'm looking forward to using the light to surreptitiously check the time in the cinema during long art house films.3
Do you all know what Vinted is? it's a online second hand marketplace, mostly for clothing although you can get most things there. It is the best way to find second-hand stuff.↩
Timpson's is a UK chain shop which does key-cutting, shoe repairs, watch repairs, and a variety of other odd jobs. I know them for being one of the more socially conscious companies and running schemes like hiring ex-offenders.↩
Ok, I love art house films. But sometimes you get hungry and start wondering how long until dinner...↩
