the ermine of st malo
I'm on holiday in the seaside town of St Malo, in northern France. Their mascot, who appears on their flag and other official signs, is this fantastic little guy.
All I've been able to find out about him so far is he's an ermine. Although his "fuck off" vibes seem appropriate for a city that spent a lot of time defending itself from sea invaders (often anglo-dutch, ahem).
I'm having a lovely time here so far exploring the medieval city walls and speaking bad French. On the journey here we took the ferry, and saw dolphins swimming alongside the boat in the dark. Magical!
