update and a birthday pigeon
I've been on a couple of holidays recently - I've been working on blog posts about them (with the film photos I got developed!) but it's taking awhile to include everything.
In the meantime, I've caught a cold and been moping and working from home since I got back, but I've also completed a card for my friends birthday.
It's been a goal of mine to paint cards for people this year to put the watercolour techniques I've learnt to the test - this friend got into bird-watching last year and has a soft spot for pigeons.
(Looking at this card I can see I'm still having trouble lessening control and letting the watercolours do their thing - I've kept the colours quite distinct! Something I'd like to work on with more washes and letting the colours spread and combine more in the next one).
Before my holiday I'd also updated my blog theme - I'm very happy with it. I think it's got a nice balance between some quirky aspects (the hover effect on the nav bar links and the header text) and remaining fairly clean.
