weeknotes #1
Let's try week notes again this year.
Edit: A deep dissatisfaction with my blog has prevent me posting this... I've been inspired again by weeknotes by anhvn and Tracey Durnell. But late will have to do. When I have time I want to play with images and fonts to make these week notes more fun.
Anyway, on to last week:
Things I've done ✎ᝰ.📓🗒 ˎˊ˗
Work is terrible, don't ask. Also had a cold.
Films (and TV) 🍿🎥✮⋆˙
- Watched all of the new Lynley series, then some of the old The Inspector Lynley Mysteries series. British detective dramas really are my fallback watch. The early 2000's doesn't seem so far away, but directly contrasting a show made then with it's modern remake really shows you how dated it feels, and how classism has changed over time (I have a post in drafts about uk detective shows I will never finish).
- Rewatched Logan Lucky with my boyfriend because I wanted something undemanding - as fun as I remember it being the first time.
- Also watched Alphabet City and Night of the Juggler as part of an NY scuzz double bill (both 80s), the documentary about the Barkley Marathons, The Man Who knew Too Much (a Hitchcock film with Jimmy Stewart) and a cute short film about a camel.
I've been feeling 🫀🩹🥀❤️🩹
Feeling really stuck. Trying to figure out how to move past this and my anxiety around the future.
I'm looking forward to
Getting back into the office instead of working from home has actually made me feel way more optimistic about everything. I've arrange some catch-ups with friends this week I'm looking forward to.
I've been reading 🍵📖
- Started reading Rebecca for book club.
- Started reading Frankenstein. Holding out for getting it from the library or finding it second hand.
- Continuing to read Marple, a collection of Miss Marple short stories from contemporary mystery writers. Hit or miss but a nice bedtime read, as they are all short.
- Started reading my A Poem a Day book again.
🍃 Nature I saw this week
- Magpies
- Two grey squirrels
- A Green Woodpecker (zooming in to try and photograph it made me think of these posts [1] [2] about photographing nature with phone cameras).
- A house spider (I believe) I had to evict from my bath
All of these (except the spider) were in the allotments I can see from my flat.
See you next week ~ 👋
