Unlucky for some! 🍀
- I had a bit of a social anxiety wobble, mood-wise which I think is to do with my period. I've been re-thinking my anti-depressants - I've definitely stopped crying so much during the day, but my sleep is still bad because I can't stop worrying about things. I feel like this is less a medication issue and more an "I'm avoiding conflict in my life to the detriment of my own well being" issue though.
It's been properly Autumn here now.
I've started viewing houses and talking to a mortgage adviser while simultaneously daydreaming about quitting my job 🙃
I re-watched The Florida Project this week before watching Anora, which confirmed Sean Baker as one of my favourite directors currently. I don't know what to say about Anora - I might try and write a post about the film, but I loved it.
I watched The Room Next Door - I love Pedro Almodovar, but his foray into English language film-making is almost embarrassing, the dialogue is shocking. It's a tribute to Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore that I still found some of the scenes genuinely touching and I loved the story, but this was a struggle - albeit one that's still absolutely beautiful to look at.
The rest is a mixture - Paddington 2, Casino Royale (a good film, surprised how mid 2000s dated it looks) and The Inspector Wears Skirts, a fun kung-fu comedy film.
I struggled with Paddington 2 - I know it's beloved, and it's lovely, the cast is fantastic, Hugh Grant is so much fun as the villain, but I feel like it portrays an England that doesn't really exist where we look after immigrants and prisoners are treated fairly and everyone lives in nice townhouses in London.
I started my watercolour course this week and really enjoyed it.
Went climbing on Thursday and struggled a lot, although it was good to go and catch up with my climbing friend. We mainly talked about work, which was a good vent.
I saw these flowers on the ground.
That's everything, I guess. I mean, it isn't because I can't distil everything I did and felt into a blog post. But until next time!
