weeknotes #15
Weeknotes 06/04/2026 - 13/04/2026
It's tricky retroactively writing weeknotes. Good thing I keep a diary. I'm stubbornly persevering with this because, at the end of the year, I want 52 weeknotes to look back on.
Things I've done I did ✎ᝰ.📓🗒 ˎˊ˗
I was mostly at work this week feeling vaguely ill. Since Easter weekend, I've had a persistent weird feeling in my throat, one and off earache, and my migraine headaches have been frequent.
I played co-open by lowopolis, which I enjoyed. I've generally been working my way through the No ICE in Minnesota bundle. The indie games on the laptop are a nice replacement for the shitty match four games I download on my phone when I'm stressed.
Had a conversation with my friend about an upcoming girls holiday which made me see group dynamics a bit differently. I left with a resolution to be more thoughtful about the things I say, and especially in long term friendships not to put people in boxes of behaviour based on how we were years ago.
I love all my frog children
- Completed Mudborne! (well, the main quest) Initially the frog chaos bothered me but I have now embraced it.
Films (and TV) 🍿🎥✮⋆˙
I watched The Drama (2026) and Smokey and the Bandit (1977) and Predestination (2014).
I liked The Drama for a lot of things, like R Patz's face (incredible, hilarious expression work) and Zendaya in general. Like the director's other film, Dream Scenario I found the limits of the intriguing premise a bit frustrating - but I had a very animated discussion with my friend about it afterwards. I wrote about one the the director's earlier films, Sick of Myself, here.
Smokey and the Bandit was my boyfriend's choice, recommended by his work boss. Very fun seventies film, let down by sexism (Sally Field deserves better!) Impressively meandering as all good road films should be.
Not much to say about Predestination, which unfortunately just feels very lifeless. Sarah Snook is good in it, but the short story it's based on, All You Zombies is much better.
I've been feeling 🫀🩹🥀❤️🩹
Terrible. Really struggling with my job and feeling more trapped than ever.
I'm looking forward to
The weekends, mostly.
I've been reading 🍵📖
I'm still reading Friday Black by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, for blook club.
Some toilet graffiti for you

Sometimes (I) think I'm not capable, then I look at all the lovely people that love me, and I realise that if such wonderful people could love me, I must be pretty cool.

See you next week 👋
