weeknotes 17

After writing last week about how I needed a format for these, I went back to a previous article I read about weeknotes I liked - Using personal weeknotes as a tool for attention - to try and figure out a new format. Aspects I like from this:

I'm looking forward to

Films 🍿🎥✮⋆˙

I watch a lot of films, it's one of my main hobbies. I already log my films on my letterboxd though

This week I watched Gilda, A Real Pain, I'm Your Man, Triangle of Sadness, Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter (terrible Hammer horror), Raw and Roar (screened at a local cinema as a flesh-eating double bill).

Notable incidents include someone literally passing out during Raw, which caused an impromptu interval. I think they were fine though.

I've been feeling 🫀🩹🥀❤️‍🩹

This is important to me - it's easier to track in my paper diary

Down and lonely :( but there's been a lot of fun things too. When I'm with people and doing things I'm happier, but I'm still left with my future to try and figure out.

Getting closer and closer to quitting my job, which is definitely related.

Things I've done ✎ᝰ.📓🗒 ˎˊ˗

A nice catch all

Met a friend and her baby for coffee. I'd like to be a good aunt - I'm not familiar with babies, but I'm trying!

I went bouldering on Wednesday, and did a pilates class. Spent more evenings in than usual.

I had to fix a flat on my bike this week, with a bit of help, so I walked to work all week while I figured that out (didn't even know tyre levers were a thing you needed).

I went to the museum over the weekend, which was nice - Bristol Museum has a really nice atmosphere even when it's full of children. I got chatting to a lady who was there with an open air sketch group, and the vendor who sold me a big issue magazine. I've become a lot better at talking to strangers, it makes me feel like I'm turning into my mum.

I've been reading 🍵📖

Reading is also pretty important to me and I'm trying to make more time for it

I've continued to read Orbital and it's really good, I'm enchanted by it.

On my to read pile I have a Tanith Lee book, and Like Water For Chocolate, the latest book for my book club. I'm excited to read both but I also don't want Orbital to end.

Ideally, I'd have a bookmark folder for each week and at the end I'd review what's been added and put them here. In practice, I do not do that.
