Weeknotes 02/03/2026 - 08/03/2026

Spring is starting to come, my mood has improved. I wrote one link round up post last week.

Things I've done ✎ᝰ.📓🗒 ˎˊ˗

Had my first Friday day off, where I went to a café and had a chat with two retired men about Tottenham Hotspur and cryptic crosswords.

I attended a "I wish I could draw faces" class.

I'm continuing to play Hollow Knight (my favourite metroidvania) but I've had to have a break after trying the second Hornet boss fight several times and getting wrecked. It's crazy how much adrenaline I get from trying to beat bosses. I've had to stop playing before bed.

In order to relax I've started playing Mudborne (which someone reccommended on their blog, but I forget who) a frog breeding management sim, which has just enough stuff to do without any urgency to do it to be relaxing. And the pixel art is very pretty as well.

Films (and TV) 🍿🎥✮⋆˙

I watched I Swear, The Secret Agent, and Barb Wire (1996) in the cinema. The Barb Wire (a dystopian future action movie starring Pamela Anderson, with a plot loosely based on Casablanca (yes, really)) screening was part of an event where there were cabaret and drag acts beforehand, as well as activities. The film is shown subtitled and commentary is encouraged - it was a lot of fun!

I've been feeling 🫀🩹🥀❤️‍🩹

I've been feeling a bit less depressed, but I've been neglecting a lot of things - personal life admin, work, spending a lot of time on my phone.

I'm looking forward to

Visiting London next weekend, attending the photo social, spring arriving and us getting some sun.

I've also got my film scans back from the photo walk I went on last week, so I'd like to make a post about that.

I've been reading 🍵📖

I finished Frankenstein. Started reading The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, by Becky Chambers, and a graphic novel called Anzuelo, by Emma Rios.
