At the same time, we're getting access to Claude at work along with reassurances its not going to replace anyone's job (I think the ship is sailing on that across the whole industry). I deliberately don't use AI for hobby coding, and have the usual objections against the use of it. But at work it feels inevitable. Claude's serif font and trendy, wellness-spa branding vibe just make me feel weary. My job has always been a job I do to facilitate my life outside work, not a vocation. But lately it's getting more and more depressing.
